Miss you Dad!

It is so sad sometimes when you realise you have forgotten the anniversary of someone who died, but it's worse when you realise that the 20th anniversary of your own Dad has past and you didn't remember until the day after, I was only fourteen when he died so I do have limited memories of him, unfortunately they have been tainted by other family members and their version of events and memories of them.
I do still miss him and even though I may not always think of him 24/7 but he is in my thoughts often.

Big HUGZ Rachael, its okay people forget, life gets in the way sometimes and things slip your mind. You shouldn't feel guilty.

I lost contact with my dad when I was 12...but have been lucky enough to track him down in my very nearly 40's. My memories of him were very tainted..everyone had an opionion. I can see his faults now but it doesnt matter. I am sure he had his faults then, but that was then. With your dad, try to use YOUR memories, just the good ones if you want. That is ok, because they are YOUR memories and you get to chose which ones you want.
And at the end of the day, as I realise now, dads are only human...just the rest of us.
I am sure you dad will not mind the fact that you missed the day. He would be happy that life goes on. ((((hugs))).

I think it is better to hold on to your own memories than the tainted ones of others. Sometimes that is the only way people let their own mourning out. Sad but true, so hold on tight and enjoy those thoughts.
Be always in stitches.
