Nuneaton Meet up

Today was the Needlecraft Haven Meet up in Nuneaton, and it was in a pub called The Abbey, which we have had a meal in before, after one of the previous meet ups at the school.
What a lovely day it was, I even stitched which surprised me, as I thought I may just sit there but I was actually looking forward to stitching. Well it was a new start. LOL

Three of the ladies are missing from the photos, they had to leave early.

Lots of lovely items that have been made by several of the ladies

I especially love Lindsay's beaded items!!

Here is what I was stitching on, this was a one off design by Nia Cross Stitch

We had an Afternoon Tea Goodie bag exchange
Here is what I put together, Lindsay was the lady to receive mine.

I received this lovely box full of goodies from Clare

We also had a Mystery book exchange, where we had to wrap a book up, and then pick a book.

No photos but I gave Jodi Picoult, House rules.

Ursh received my book and I received her book

I received Me before You by Jojo Moyes which is a World Book Night choice this year.

I had a truly lovely day, even though I was worried before going, I am glad I did! It was lovely to see everyone again.

April

I am determined to get my friendship quilt finished, I am so sorry to everyone who sent me fabric and I haven't even touched it for months. For quite a while I have been suffering with depression and I am slowly fighting my way out. I need a project to get me motivated again, and I think that will be the one.
Apart from my SS RR I did with some ladies on the Needlecraft Haven board, I have not touched a needle for quite some time.

Although yesterday I finally made some covers for my son's Recurve bow, so he does not need the plastic bags they came in anymore.

I bought two pillowcases from a charity shop so half my work was already done, (he he) I have only used one pillowcase so I have a spare if he needs another one doing.

I was supposed to be going to my Monthly craft group today, it was cancelled last month because of the snow, and I was going except Reece reminded me about his final Archery Group lessons last night, yeah loads of notice, although my fault for not writing on the calendar!!
Sigh the joys of being a Mum!
I hope I can make the next one it seems like such a long time since I have been, the last one was where I crocheted the bag.
I hope everyone is well. I try and read blogs but I don't always comment Sorry!

Speciality Stitch RR

I have received my RR back from Mary, This was stitched on by a few ladies from the Needlecraft Haven Forum. I have put a bobbin next to it so you can see how diddy it is. I love it!! I still need to stitch my part and I am going to make it into a bookmark!
I love how it looks with just three colours! I just hope it wasn't a headache for the ladies to stitch on!!

Crochet Bag

I started crocheting the squares for this when I went to Scout Hut Crafters group on Sunday 24th Feb.

I just need to get some interfacing for the fabric so I can line it.
And then attach the handles.

I am sorry it has been so long, I have lost my crafting bug for quite a while, I had hoped by doing a Stitching RR it would help it resurface, but un forunately when I have received the packages, I have had a little dread and doubt about stitching which cannot be good. But I needed to do something at my craft group so I took some cotton wool I boughta while ago and my hooks and a magazine. And started this bag. And I have really enjoyed doing it.
I have been mainly fundrasing and fostering for Cats Protection. I was recently in my local paper as I have organised a Cat Calendar Competition. Doing some supermarket fundraising as well, and hopefully the weather will be better this year for the stalls at events.
But hopefully it will not be as long next time between posts!

Hellloooo!

It has been a while, I haven't had time for any stitching, been busy with my volunteer roles with Cats Protection. I even haven't had time to update my CP blog either.
Looked at my googlereader I am so behind on reading blogs.
over 1000 waiting to be read! oh dear.
But I am here because I will be stitching soon, I have two things I need to do, a Speciality stitches RR, and my name which I bought from Nia cross stitch.
Hopefully I will have pictures to show you soon.

Over a month

Gee it has been that long since I posted, also I haven't been reading blogs
This is how many I have waiting, I will try and read them I just won't be able to comment on many.

I have been so busy with my two new roles at Cats Protection, I haven't stitched or crocheted, I have done a little sewing on my friendship quilt though. Maybe when things settle down I will be able to find the time.

But for now, Thank you for stopping by

Diamond Jubilee Exchange

I joined an exchange with Clare for a Jubilee Exchange.
All was going well, and then I realised I had made a mistake on the design, and it would mean loads of back counting to find out where the mistake was, and I couldn't lose any time as I was late with this exchange as it was!

This is the design I WAS stitching.
It was available in CrossStitcher Issue 250
By pottery designer Emma Bridgewater.

So I decided to stitch the design I had bought for myself, and I am rather pleased with it, and I can always stitch it again for myself.

Watch this space
But I won't share my photo yet as I have done something special with it, just in case Clare reads this, that can be a surprise.

From Clare I received an apron that she glitzed up with some Made in Britain ribbon which I just love, and the patch of cross stitch on the front.

and a close up of the stitching

This is too good to put to real use. I may just hang it on the kitchen door and warn everyone not to touch it LOL.

Yes I am late in sending! so will have to wait until Clare receives my exchange piece before I can share with you!

Thank you for stopping by
